Collaboration Team

Climate change is a complex challenge that demands coordinated action. Our Collaboration Team was established to build connections between and among the Climate Solution Accelerator’s most directly climate-focused member organizations. Each month at the Collaboration Team meeting (and actively in between the meetings!) participants convene and connect in order to work more effectively and efficiently together towards strategic, impactful climate solutions.

Our Collaboration Team principles and strategies include:

  • Frequently convening and connecting to exchange updates on organizations’ regional climate issues and initiatives

  • Coordinating local campaigns and events across organizations to harness our collective power

  • Recruiting and engaging volunteers

  • Providing leadership development opportunities to nurture existing and new local climate champions

  • Amplifying member organization’s efforts

  • Highlighting the intersectionality of the climate crisis

  • Serving as an educational, skill-building resource for local climate activists

On November 8, 2021, the Climate Solutions Accelerator Collaboration Team hosted a Lobbying 101 Webinar. This training introduced participants to the lobbying process, methods, tips, tricks, and more. Sarah Mittiga, co-leader of the Rochester chapter of Citizens' Climate Lobby, facilitated the training. It was followed by Allen Blair of NY Renews providing an information session on the Climate and Community Investment Act, which climate advocates across the state are lobbying to support.
