This framework isn’t a rigid plan but a call to action—empowering individuals, organizations, and municipalities to navigate climate challenges while leveraging our region’s strengths and values.
Make Your Home or Business More Climate-Friendly
The Finger Lakes Clean Energy Hub (AMPED) is a NYSERDA-funded initiative to ensure that historically underserved communities and populations participate in and benefit from the transition to clean energy. The Hub's services currently include residential and commercial energy advisement, referrals to vetted contractors, and community education and outreach—in collaboration with community partners—to promote beneficial electrification and encourage residents and organizational leaders to electrify their homes, buildings, and vehicles.
Attend Green Drinks
Are you passionate about your organization's impact on the planet? Join us at Green Drinks, a monthly networking event for sustainability-minded professionals. Each gathering is hosted by a different organization with its own sustainability story and features delicious local, plant-based food and drinks. Past hosts have included Iron Smoke Distillery, Marilla's Mindful Supplies, Nextcorps, Butler/Till, and Woodbury Place.
Get Connected or Start a Color Your Community Green Team
Our municipalities are the small but mighty building blocks of our region and state, and also of regional and statewide climate action. These towns, villages, and cities possess a great deal of authority and autonomy in “home rule” New York, meaning that much of the climate progress needed in our region can only happen when municipalities take action. This is why the Climate Solutions Accelerator is mobilizing climate action across the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region through the Color Your Community Green (CYCG) initiative.
Join our Climate Advocacy Network
Do you want to see bold policy changes that will help our community thrive? Then join us on our Climate Advocacy Network and be a voice for our community at all levels of government to advance these changes. There is no specific time commitment and members can choose to participate in many different ways. Participation is designed to be “plug ‘n play”- the Accelerator provides the tools and coordination and you choose which actions you have the capacity to take! For instance, you could make just one phone call per year or dive in and help us coordinate meetings with legislative officials! Every action counts, no matter how small!
