Klaas and Mary-Howell Martens own a farm near Penn Yan, NY and Lakeview Organic Grain, an organic feed mill and seed business in Penn Yan. Their younger son Danial works with Mary-Howell at Lakeview Organic Grain and our older son Peter manages the family farm and Seneca Grain and Bean, an organic grains and legumes business. They farm about 1900 acres.

Klaas is on the Yates County Soil and Water Conservation district BOD, the Soil Health Institute BOD, the American Farmland Trust BOD, and the FarmFoundation BOD. He works closely with Cornell University researchers supporting work inorganic farming systems.
