Conor Healy
Conor grew up in Newark, NY, and spent a large part of his youth enjoying the abundant nature of our region: swimming in Sodus Bay, skiing at Bristol Mountain, and sailing on the Finger Lakes. As an undergraduate at the University of Chicago, he studied English Language and Literature, after which he moved to Los Angeles where he spent seven years working in music, film and television while writing screenplays in his free time.
Eventually, he decided to leave fictional worlds behind and turn his attention to the grand challenges of the real one. A desire to have both meaning and impact in his work drove him to pivot into a career focused on combating climate change. After moving to London, he attended the University of Oxford and received an MBA from its Saïd Business School. Since then, Conor has worked for several renewable energy and climate-related startups. After moving back to the U.S. and settling in Rochester, Conor now leverages his writing skills and climate experience to secure grants that will help the Accelerator expand its work and impact.
He is inspired and motivated by the Haudenosaunee Seventh Generation Principle, and hopes to leave a habitable and thriving planet for his daughter and the many generations that follow.
