Jenna Lawson
Clean Hub Energy Director
Jenna hails from the small town of Pembroke in Genesee County, and grew up with a forest and Tonawanda Creek right in her backyard. After receiving her B.A. in African American History and Structural Inequality from SUNY Geneseo, she became an AmeriCorps VISTA through Rochester Youth Year at Connected Communities. After her year of service, she stayed on the team and worked on special projects before developing a passion for housing equity and becoming their Housing Project Manager. Working in the EMMA and Beechwood neighborhoods in Rochester, Jenna began to see how interconnected climate and environmental justice were with her initial interests in furthering racial equity and breaking the cycle of poverty. At the Climate Solutions Accelerator, Jenna works to reduce systemic barriers to clean energy adoption as the Clean Energy Hub Director and make it easier for organizations and individuals to work for a climate-resilient region. In her spare time, you can catch Jenna, because she is jogging very slowly around Rochester with her dog, Stevie.
